Hudson’s game prediction
It’s still uncertain which quarterback will start for the Longhorns in Lubbock Saturday, but I’m writing this with the assumption that that will be the case Hudson card will start for the second time in a row. I’d expect another run-heavy offensive game plan with a little more schematic variety against a tech defense that’s been heavily upgraded and features an all-conference caliber player Tyree Wilson.
A key factor in that game that stood out was that Texas Tech ranked the No. 139 team in the country in defensive field position with the opponent’s average starting point being at their own 39.5-yard line. according to Parker Fleming. While Joey McGuire has made the Texas Tech program competitive in a short span of time, I think the Horns are overkill, led by another stellar performance from running back duo Bijan Robinson and Roschon Johnson.
Mike’s game prediction
There are a few interesting folds in this for Texas. The biggest thing is that the Longhorns are about to play their first away game of the season and it will be played in a hostile environment in Lubbock. Although the Longhorns haven’t lost there since Michael Krebsbaum dashed their national title game hopes, they’ve been in some tight games the past few times on the Plains. The Texas Tech offense has the potential to be explosive enough to cause some problems for the Texas defense.
So far, the Longhorns have demonstrated an ability to play consistently and respond to adversity. This week should offer the Longhorns another chance to answer some critical questions about the state of the program. This will be another big game for the Texas backfield Roshon Johnson and Bijan Robinsonand I think Xavier Worthy there’s a big game coming up. Texas Tech’s offense has struggled with sales for the past few weeks, and if this continues, it could be a good day for Texas.
