Fresh from his gig hosting this year’s Primetime Emmys, comedian and “SNL” veteran Kenan Thompson is back on stage Thursday night in Atlanta as he introduces the 13 to some new technological folds.
The stand-up comedy search, which begins September 22 at the Atlanta Comedy Theater, follows Thompson as he searches for adult comedians and talented children in more than 50 cities. Among the new items across the country (50+ major cities).
Thompson has partnered with Rendered Talent to offer contestants a virtual reality option to participate in the Metaverse through the Failed To Render Comedy Club. Additionally, Thompson partnered with Proto to attend live shows and attend showcases digitally via the Metaverse as a digital hologram to accommodate his busy schedule via Proto’s 4K hologram device.
After the first showcase in Atlanta, the next big city showcase will take place in Chicago on October 5th.

Production has begun on the Tubi original film, Spread, starring Elizabeth Gillies, Harvey Keitel, Diedrich Bader, Bryan Craig, Teri Polo, Blake Harrison, Tim Rozon and Keith Walker. The film is from Cartel Pictures and is scheduled to open in 2023.
Gillies plays an ambitious aspiring journalist who lands a temp job at an adult magazine run by an aging industry king, played by Keitel, and struggles with her idealism as she works to make the company a success. The film is directed by Ellie Kanner and written and co-produced by Buffy Charlet. It also stars Dia Frampton, Jonah Platt and Diora Baird.
Inspired by screenwriter Charlet’s real-life experiences as a temp at Hustler magazine, where she eventually rose to the rank of editor, the film’s plot is executive produced by Gillies and co-produced by Stan Spry, Eric Scott Woods and Graem Luis.
TheGrio announced that “Masters of the Game” will premiere on Friday, September 30th at 8:00pm ET/PT and will air original episodes on TheGrio’s cable channel on the last Friday of every month. Author and journalist Touré hosts one-on-one interviews in each episode, and opening guests include tennis superstar Frances Tiafoe in his first full-length interview since the US Open and first-ever black NFL coach Jennifer King.
Future guests on the program include filmmaker Tyler Perry, NBA head coach Doc Rivers, Debbie Allen and more. The show is produced by Kash Alexander; Christina Faith is also directing and producing.
Canela Media announced that their new documentary, titled Mi Vida, their second original project that includes celebrities’ first-hand accounts of their lives, premieres on November 10th.
The first installment of the docuseries will air in 2022 and will feature Kate del Castillo in the first episode, with four more episodes releasing weekly before the end of the year. The second part with five more episodes will start in the first quarter of 2023. In addition to del Castillo, other stars will appear in episodes of Mi Vida, including Manolo Cardona, Ludwika Paleta, Jencarlos Canela, Julián Gil and Roselyn Sánchez, Guy Ecker, Gaby Espino and Danny Trejo.
The ten episode series is produced by Canela Media in association with JK Media Group.
The Crackle Plus original series Wedding Talk, co-hosted by Tara Lipinski, Jose Rolon and Jove Meyer, will debut on the streaming service on October 13. It will be available exclusively on the Chicken Soup for the Soul and Crackle ad-supported streaming apps, as well as the Chicken Soup for the Soul free ad-supported TV channel.
Olympic gold medalist and Olympic commentator Lipinski will switch from sports to fashion, speaking all things wedding in each 30-minute episode of Wedding Talk with wedding planner José Rolón and leading wedding designer Jove Meyer.
