Halton Regional Police investigators are trying to locate two men they say were responsible for a violent carjacking, two hit and runs, theft of gas and driving through a playground where children were playing on Tuesday .

It all started around 9:30 am. According to a police press release, officers saw a stolen white pickup truck merging in and out of traffic in the Derry Road and Holly Avenue area of Milton at the time.

That truck, a 2014 Ford F-250, was previously reported stolen from the Peel area on January 7.

The truck approached a police cruiser Tuesday morning and then sped away, police said.

“The police were unable to stop the fleeing vehicle,” the press release said. The same truck was then seen “driving irregularly through Milton” and was involved in two hit-and-run collisions, pulling away from a Petro Canada gas station on Main Street East around 9:35 a.m. without paying for gas, police said .

The truck was then seen driving through a fence at Pineview Public School and into a playground where children were playing, police say. No injuries were reported in any of these incidents.

Then, around 9:40 a.m., police received a call about a theft car in a subway parking lot at 1050 Kennedy Circle in Milton.

Investigators say the same pickup truck struck a Honda CR-V parked in the lot, then two men got out and smashed the CR-V’s driver’s side window.

The men then broke down the door and threw the woman in the driver’s seat to the ground, police said. The men then got into the CRV and sped away.

A video of the incident shared on social media shows the woman screaming as she is pulled from the car and then lies motionless on the pavement after the suspects took off. Police say they are aware of the video and say the victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators say the stolen CR-V was later recovered just before 3pm in the Kennedy Road South area of Brampton. Nobody was inside at the time.

“This is a shocking and violent crime that is putting the lives of many Milton residents at risk. We are using all available resources and will relentlessly pursue and hold those responsible to account,” Halton Police said. said Dave Stewart in a statement.

Police describe the first suspect as a thin, white man, about six feet tall, wearing a gray sweater.

The second suspect is described as a white male in his late 20s with dark hair, shaved clean and wearing a dark colored hoodie.
