One of the reasons why some companies still insist on using cloud technologies for their operations is the cost. Businesses are being forced to embrace the cloud for its agility, scalability, and resilience. However, those who don’t control cloud costs face significant margin pressures, weighing on more than $1 trillion in market cap by some estimates.
During a recent media briefing held in Pasay City, Azul, the only company 100% focused on Java, shared insights on how they can help Filipino customers cut their cloud costs with their flagship product, Platform Prime – the world’s best 50% reduction in Java runtime for cloud workloads. Azul is currently headquartered in Sunnyvale, California.
“The challenges Azul solves are global; Everyone is struggling with cloud costs, and organizations are increasingly weary of paying high prices for Oracle Java. It’s an exciting time for Java and Azul. With so much innovation and a customer base that includes brands such as LG, Mastercard, Salesforce and BMW, this was an opportunity I just couldn’t pass up and I’m thrilled to be part of the incredible team at Azul,” said Dean Vaughan , Vice President of APAC at Azul. Vaughan’s recent appointment signals the company’s expansion across the Asia-Pacific region.
Vaughan comes to Azul from Aruba Networks, a Hewlett Packard Enterprise company, following the acquisition of Silver Peak, where he served as vice president of APAC. At Silver Peak, he led the company’s rapid growth across APAC; previously, he led Oracle’s high-growth global business unit, Oracle Linux and Virtualization.
Helping customers run Java efficiently
Azul has been a Java leader for 20 years and is the largest independent Java vendor. The company supports more versions of Java than any other company, even more than Oracle. Azul Platform Core provides a supported, secure, interoperable, and compliant Java runtime at up to 70% less cost than Oracle.
For businesses, Java is still the programming language of choice for everything from big data to payment processing – some of the most complex tasks that require advanced applications. Azul Platform Prime is changing the economics of deploying these applications in the cloud to reduce costs and gain competitive advantage.
Trusted by millions of Java developers, hundreds of millions of devices, and the world’s most respected companies, Azul brings exceptional capability, performance, security, value, and success to their applications.
Vaughan also shared his interest in working with Filipino open source and user groups to spread the word that Azul is a more cost-effective option for enterprises and enterprises to run and maintain their Java applications in the cloud.
